Brewers place Gerut on DL

05/28/2010 - Milwaukee, WI (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Milwaukee Brewers have placed outfielder Jody Gerut on the 15-day disabled list with a bruised left heel.

The move is retroactive to May 23.

Gerut, over 32 games in mostly a reserve role, is batting just .197 with two homers and eight runs batted in.

The Brewers recalled outfielder Adam Stern from Triple-A Nashville to fill the vacant roster spot. Stern will join the parent club for a third time this season and has seen action in four games, notching a run batted in.
